ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – An 18-year-old man who had been arrested at 17, accused in a fatal shooting over the summer in Orlando, has been indicted on charges including first-degree murder, according to the Ninth Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office.

Tenaje Johnson was indicted by a grand jury on charges of first-degree murder with a firearm, attempted robbery with a firearm, shooting at, within or into an occupied vehicle and possession of a firearm by a minor, the State Attorney’s Office said Wednesday in a news release.

Johnson was arrested in July, about two weeks after Orlando police responded to a car that had crashed into a home in the 1300 block of Lawne Boulevard and found 19-year-old Christopher Dumesle fatally shot inside of the vehicle.

According to Wednesday’s news release, Dumesle had allegedly arrived to the area for a drug deal when two suspects who met him there tried to rob him, leading to the shooting.

Though the fatal shooting took place before Johnson’s 18th birthday, the State Attorney’s Office decided to charge him as an adult, the release states.
