Man shot, killed wife outside of Orlando shopping center, police say

ORLANDO, Fla. – A man whom police said shot and killed his wife outside of an Orlando shopping center has been apprehended in Indian River after he fled the scene, according to a news release.

Orlando police said that on Monday around 1:15 p.m., they responded to the plaza located in the 5800 block of Lake Underhill Road in reference to a shooting.

According to officers, they located a woman suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The woman, later identified as 44-year-old Yuneisy Labrada Rodriguez, died at the scene, police said.

According to the release, witnessed identified the suspect as 54-year-old Armando Verdecia Carralero – the victim’s husband. Witnesses reported that Carralero left the scene in a vehicle after the shooting.

Police said that Carralero was later located by the Indian River Sheriff’s Office and was taken into custody without incident.

Carralero faces charges of first-degree murder with a firearm.

OPD is not looking for any other suspects, according to the release.
