Man arrested after stealing Marion County Sheriff’s Office vehicle, deputies say

Pursuit ended at SR-200 and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A man was arrested after he took off with a patrol vehicle on Saturday, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said they responded to a call for service in an undisclosed location around 5:43 p.m.

At some point, a man identified as James Brady, was able to steal a patrol vehicle, according to deputies.

Officials said that after a short pursuit, a deputy was able to stop the stolen vehicle using a PIT maneuver at the intersection of State Road 200 and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.

Brady was arrested at the scene, but officials did not say what charges he may be facing.
