Thrills, chills at the Space Coast State Fair’s spooky season opening in Brevard County

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – The Space Coast State Fair is back and bigger than ever with more rides, a larger location and new ticket prices.

Brevard County’s state fair is set to open Thursday, Oct. 31 through Sunday, Nov. 17. This year, the fair has a larger 38-acre location at 5775 Stadium Parkway in Melbourne.

Come dressed in costumes to the fair’s Halloween opening night which will feature trick or treating at food stands from 5-10 p.m. Dress your furry friends in costume too as dogs on leashes are welcome at the park.

The fair will feature a record 30-35 rides which is an upgrade compared to the 25-30 rides offered in previous years.

Explore fan favorite rides from a 90-foot-tall Ferris Wheel to a Grand Carousel to Bumper Cars. Flip, rock and roll on the classic Zipper ride or race your friends down the 90 foot long Fun Slide.

As you dizzily stumble off of rides, refuel at food and beverage vendors or explore the park’s nonprofit, commercial and craft vendors.

If exhilarating rides aren’t for you, one of the fair’s 10 shows may interest you. Become entranced by The Benjamin Jackson Hypnotist Show or watch professionals master bull riding on select days.

Feeling brave? Face your fears in a 2000-square-foot haunted house with seven rooms and asylum chambers crawling with hidden clowns and zombies.

The park is open from 5-10 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 5 p.m. to midnight on Fridays, 1-11:30 p.m. on Saturdays and 1-10 p.m. on Sundays.

Admission and ride tickets range from $25 on Tuesday through Thursdays to $30 on Fridays through Sundays with a new special $10 ticket for those who want to general admission to the park and shows without the rides. Children under 36 inches tall, veterans and seniors 65 and up enter free.

Individual ride tickets will be available at ticket booths inside the fair for $1.25 per ticket. Riders can also get 18 tickets for $20 or 40 tickets for $40. Skip the lines and go straight to the thrills with a $10 fast-pass. Parking is $5 per vehicle.

Every day, the park offers a new deal where you can save money.

On Mondays, moms get free admission and free unlimited rides with the purchase of a kid’s ticket. On Tuesdays, teachers and students get free admission. Wednesdays are for the boys as dads can receive free admission and a free unlimited rides ticket with the purchase of another. Thursday’s Ladies Night offers buy one get one free admission for women. On Fridays, Midnight Madness begins at 8 p.m. offering an admission and unlimited rides combo for $25. Kids rule on Saturdays when all kids under the age of 11 enter for free from 1-2 p.m.
