ORLANDO, Fla. – A 20-year-old man was arrested after police said he caused thousands of dollars in damage to a downtown Orlando fire station with a rock.
Police said that on Oct. 4 around 5:20 a.m. bike officers responded to a report of broken garage bay windows at Orlando Fire Department Station 1.
According to a release, the suspect used a rock to smash garage bay windows, causing around $30,000 in damage.

Police said they reviewed surveillance footage of the incident and one of the officers recognized the suspect from an encounter during their patrol shift.
According to the release, the suspect was identified as Matthew Jaquith and an arrest warrant was obtained.
Police said when they located Jaquith later that day, he confessed to the crime.
“The windows, doors at the fire station. They got damaged — by me,” Jaquith can be heard saying in body camera footage from his arrest.
Jaquith faces charges of criminal mischief, but has since bonded out, records show.
