2nd woman arrested after fatal Sanford shooting was livestreamed online

Lakevia Pringle, 31, faces charge of principal to premeditated homicide

SANFORD, Fla. – A second woman was arrested on Friday after a fatal shooting in Sanford earlier in the week, according to the police department.

In a release, police said that the woman — Lakevia Pringle, 31 — turned herself in at the police department, and she now faces a charge of principal in the first degree to first-degree premeditated homicide.

According to police, the shooting happened Tuesday evening near the Greystone Townhomes, and upon arrival, officers found 34-year-old Lauren Ashley Martin lying in the road with several gunshot wounds. Martin later died at the hospital.

Detectives said they learned that Martine had driven to the home of another woman — Savon Chantay Tyler, 35 — regarding an ongoing argument. However, the altercation turned physical, leading Tyler to shoot Lauren, detectives added.

Tyler was arrested without incident and faces a charge of first-degree homicide.

Meanwhile, police said Pringle was present during the altercation, which Pringle live-streamed to social media.

“While streaming, Pringle can be heard encouraging Tyler to continue the altercation, which led to the homicide of Lauren,” police said. “Multiple attempts to interview Pringle were unsuccessful due to her lack of cooperation.”

Pringle was ultimately taken into custody and taken to the John E. Polk Correctional Facility without further incident, police said.
