‘Both teams still win:’ FAMU beats Bethune-Cookman in Florida Classic

Florida Classic game ended with a 41-38 score

ORLANDO, Fla. – The annual Florida Classic game ended with a 41-38 score and FAMU winning against in-state rival Bethune-Cookman for the fourth consecutive year.

The annual game is held in Orlando at Camping World Stadium. It brings in thousands of fans from all over the state looking to cheer on their team.

While FAMU narrowly won, fans tell News 6 that it is less about winning and more about the fun, positive atmosphere the game brings.

“It’s good to see everybody come out and support and you know two teams play each other and be respectful to one another,” Tampa resident TeDajah Bradley said. “You know everybody achieves their goals, gets them yards that they want, either way, both teams still win at the end of the day.”

“It’s a great experience it’s a great vibe and stuff and like that, I know they say a lot of bad things about it, but there are good things that come out of it,” Orlando resident Don Strickland said.

The game is a large fundraiser for both universities and is estimated to bring in an estimated $30 million in economic impact to Orlando.
