ORLANDO, Fla. – The spirit of giving has taken root in downtown Orlando’s Primrose Shop, a boutique clothing store known for its fashionable finds and warm ambiance.
After seeing heartwarming Angel Tree stories on the news, store owner Jennifer McLeod, who happens to be our very own Emily McLeod’s mother, decided to get involved in the holiday effort to bring joy to children in need.

“I saw the Angel Tree stories on the news, and it really touched my heart,” Jennifer McLeod shared. “The idea of helping our seniors have a brighter holiday just spoke to me. I knew I had to do something.”
On Monday, McLeod picked up several Angel Tree tags from the Salvation Army—each representing a local child and senior with a holiday wish list. By Tuesday, she had set up her own Angel Tree inside the store, ready for customers to join the cause.

The tree, adorned with colorful tags, has quickly become a focal point for shoppers. Each tag provides the age, gender, and a wish list item for a child or senior in the community. Customers are invited to select a tag, purchase a gift, and return it to the store to ensure it gets delivered to a deserving child or senior.
“It just gives such great joy, of all the things happening in the store for this holiday season, I am the most excited about this,” McLeod said.
For McLeod, the initiative is deeply personal. “It’s personal to me because I really feel a strong sense of giving back to the community, but what I really love about it is that they include the seniors. The elders.”
The Angel Tree at Primrose Shop is part of a larger effort by the Salvation Army, with trees set up at various locations across the city. These efforts ensure that children in need receive gifts and experience the joy of the holiday season.
