United Arts of Central Florida kicks off annual campaign. How you can support local artists

Community arts nonprofit hopes to raise $6.5 million

ORLANDO, Fla. – Monday morning on “Breakfast with Bridgett,” United Arts Of Central Florida announced the kickoff of its annual “Collaborative Campaign For The Arts” to raise funds to support dozens of local artists, plus arts, science and history programs in Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Lake counties.

What’s special is that your generosity is amplified when you give between now and April 30 because these organizations will have access to a matching pool of up to $1.25 million," said Tom Hope with United Arts of Central Florida.

It’s the 32nd year for the campaign, and the goal is to raise $6.5 million.

“Many of your viewers probably know that earlier this summer, Florida’s $32 million in arts funding was zeroed out, so the effects are pretty deeply felt in our community. Many of our organizations are large and established and have deep donor-based, but not all of them. Many of them are volunteer-based, are passion projects,” Hope said.
