ST. CLOUD, Fla. – A phone threat Tuesday morning prompted a lock down at three St. Cloud schools.

The St. Cloud Police Department posted on social media just before 8:30 a.m. that a threat was “phoned in” to St. Cloud High School.

According to the school district, the threat prompted a lock down at nearby Michigan Avenue Elementary and St. Cloud Middle schools.

“The high school received a threat that someone unauthorized may attempt to come on campus. We are notifying parents of all three schools now. Again ... everyone is safe and law enforcement is investigating,” a district spokesperson said in a statement.

After multiple sweeps, police said around 9 a.m. that there was no credible threat and that parents would be notified by the school district on how to “safely and efficiently” pick up students.

No other details have been released.
