ORLANDO, Fla. – In a remarkable gesture of generosity, Dr. Phillips Charities has gifted an entire performance of Orlando Ballet’s The Nutcracker to a community audience, creating an unforgettable holiday experience for 1,500 Central Floridians.
This unique event marks the first time Orlando Ballet’s beloved production has been reserved exclusively for an audience of children and families who might not otherwise have had the chance to experience the holiday classic. Attendees represent diverse local organizations, including the Boys & Girls Clubs, Central Florida YMCA, Make-A-Wish, and New Hope for Kids, among others.

Dr. Phillips Charities, inspired by the artistry and imagination of Artistic Director Jorden Morris’ rendition of The Nutcracker, collaborated with Orlando Ballet to make this event a reality.
“We were so impressed with Orlando Ballet’s imaginative version of The Nutcracker, we wanted to create a magical holiday experience for families who may not have had the opportunity to attend,” said Ken Robinson of Dr. Phillips Charities.
The $3.6 million production, which premiered last season, broke attendance records and received acclaim for its modern choreography, engaging puppetry, and captivating visuals. Clara’s flight 40 feet above the stage and an enormous Christmas tree are just a few highlights of the dazzling show.
The production’s updated sets, costumes, and lighting, funded in part by a $500,000 grant from Dr. Phillips Charities, elevate the experience to new heights. Morris’ creative vision, which took over three years to develop, ensures every detail delights audiences of all ages.
“There is nothing more magical during the holidays than The Nutcracker,” said Morris. “The Dr. Phillips Charities’ decision is a very big act of love for this community.”
