The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is working to identify the owner of approximately 25 kilograms of cocaine discovered along the coastline.

The cocaine, sealed in watertight packaging and marked with a scorpion logo, was recovered by a local fisherman who reported the find to law enforcement, according to a social media post by the sheriff’s office. The shipment has an estimated street value of $1.7 million.

The post, titled “Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to return lost items” showed photos of multiple bundles of the wrapped drugs.

“Well since at the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office we always strive to do the right thing, our Narcotics Agents are trying to identify the rightful owner of the 25 kilos of cocaine,” the post continued.

The sheriff’s office said the drugs appear to have fallen from a boat, possibly while its owner was traveling along Brevard County’s coastline.

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information about the cocaine or its rightful owner to contact their Narcotics Division.

“So if the 25 kilos of coke belongs to you, all we need you to do is come down to our Criminal Investigative Services building on Gus Hipp Blvd in Rockledge and claim your property with absolutely no strings attached!!” the post said in part.
