BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – Two Publix stores are set to open their doors to customers on Thursday, adding to the grocery chain’s growing list of locations.
First up is a location scheduled to open 3100 S. Ocean Drive in Hollywood, and it will span nearly 30,000 square feet, according to company officials.

Publix spokeswoman Lindsey Willis told News 6 that this location will offer three floors, with the bottom two being a parking garage and the top level being the main store.
But perhaps most interesting is the inclusion of a dock where Publix customers can park their boats before walking inside to shop.
“The store also features a seating area inside and benches on the main dock for customers to enjoy their Publix sub or other grab-and-go items!” Willis said.
In addition, local residents may also get the rare glimpse of a large, motorized Publix shopping cart traveling around the area on the store’s opening day.
But that’s not all. Yet another new Publix store is coming to Central Florida.
According to the company’s website, that new 48,387-square-foot location is set to open at 2895 N. Narcoossee Road in St. Cloud.
This latest addition will feature a pharmacy, an adjacent liquor store, and an upstairs seating area.
Spokeswoman Hannah Herring told News 6 that this latest store will have a similar layout to other recent stores in the region, such as locations at:
- Shoppes at Storey Park, Orlando — Opened in March 2024
- Publix at Waterleigh Village, Winter Garden — Opened in August 2023
- Publix at Celebration Pointe, Kissimmee — Opened in May 2023
The grand openings for both upcoming stores will kick off on Thursday morning.
However, there are also two other Publix stores that have opened to the public recently. They include the following:
- Courtyard Shops at Wellington, Wellington — Opened in November 2024
- This store features a burrito bar and “Pours Area,” which is a beverage area that boasts locally roasted coffee, several types of alcohol on tap, and smoothies. This means that the store is one of a handful of Publix locations that allow guests to drink as they shop.
- Shoppes at Cypress Bay, Palm Bay — Opened in November 2024
- Like many other stores, this Central Florida location features a deli, pharmacy, and second-story indoor seating area for customers to enjoy a sandwich or other item on the go.
