ORLANDO, Fla. – Several residents at a southwest Orlando apartment complex found their car windows broken on Wednesday.
They say it’s not the first time, and they are worried about their safety. One of the residents sent News 6 an email describing their concerns. News 6 reporter Laverne McGee went to Twelve Oaks apartment complex off of Conroy Road and found several residents in the parking lot. They were sweeping glass off the pavement from their smashed car windows.
“It’s very scary knowing that I was a target today, I don’t like that feeling at all,” Moriah Velez told News 6.
Velez says she went to her car around 7:15 a.m. to go to work and found her both her back seat and passenger side window smashed in.
“It’s upsetting, especially when rent is really high, and you are just trying to make a living. I even had to miss work today because of all this happening,” she said.

Velez told us she doesn’t think anything was taken, and her neighbor Romerito Machado told us the same thing. He said nothing was stolen, just broken windows and they opened up the console.
Machado said he moved here just four months ago and does not feel safe.
News 6 tried to find out if management was going to do anything more to protect residents, but they told us they would not comment.
They did, however, send an email to residents saying they asked the Orlando Police Department for more patrols.
Orlando Police Department did not comment.
