SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – A Sanford neighborhood is dealing with some unexpected visitors.
“The hogs definitely do damage when they come into the neighborhood because they come in packs. You’ll see at least six of them together, and they just tear up all the yards. It gets really bad,” resident Brianna Cruz said.
This is not the first time Sterling Meadows residents like Brianna and Enrique Cruz have encountered wild hogs.
“There’s a lot of excavating going on right now on the other side of the subdivision,” Enrique Cruz explained. “I guess it’s just driving them out of their natural habitat, and they’re just looking elsewhere to get something to eat. I’ve seen them feeding on a lot of these little acorns.”

While they have grown somewhat accustomed to wild hogs roaming their yards, a new and much larger guest recently made an appearance: a massive pig. Brianna Cruz recorded the animal after it randomly appeared on her street.
“He had to be at least 600 pounds. He was big,” she told News 6. “I saw him this week when I was going to work.”
Although the wild hogs are known to disturb yards and even neighborhood pets, Enrique Cruz noted that the adult male pig seemed harmless.
“He wasn’t violent. He was just out here trying to get something to eat,” he said.
The Cruz family said such unusual visits are not too far off from a normal day in the Sunshine State.
“It’s typical to see wildlife like that in Florida in general, but it’s not common to see it in your neighbor’s yard,” Brianna Cruz said.
They told News 6 that the pig was removed from the neighborhood on Saturday.
