SANFORD, Fla. – A man was arrested Sunday in a string of burglaries at a
Sanford mosque.

Sanford police said Omran Ibrahim was arrested at Masjid Al-Salam at 2917 S. Orlando Ave. in Sanford. He faces charges of burglary, theft and grand theft.

Among the thefts, Ibrahim stole from the mosque safe and a business donation safe, according to arrest reports.

Sanford police posted video the arrest on its Facebook page, showing officers and K-9s searching for Ibrahim inside the mosque.

“Ibrahim was arrested for (Sunday) night’s burglary, for prior burglaries at this location, and for grand theft and theft charges,” the post stated.

The other burglaries occurred on Dec. 1, Dec. 4 and Dec. 7.
