SANFORD, Fla. – The Sanford Police Department said on Wednesday they are investigating a number of incidents of a suspicious person possibly looking into resident’s windows and exposing themselves on the east side of the city.
Bianca Gillett, strategic communications manager with Sanford police, said they are looking into reports that have occurred over the last week of the suspicious person around residences, possibly looking at windows.

“Last night we did confirm two reports of what would be considered a Peeping Tom, prowler activity that we took, offense reports that are actively being worked on by our investigations,” Gillett said.

Sanford officials said that “a lot of the information” is being shared on social media and asked that anyone who has encountered a suspicious person around their residence please call police so they can investigate.
So far, the reports are coming from the Mellonville area, 20th Street, Park Street, and 17th Street, officials said.
“Unfortunately, last night the instances that were reported did raise to that prowler, indecent exposure situation,” Gillet said.
No description of the possible suspect was shared.
Sanford police said they hope to soon release footage of the person involved in one of the incidents reported on Tuesday evening.
