City celebrates Cocoa High School’s 3rd straight football state championship win

Mayor, coach join celebration at Cocoa Riverfront Park

COCOA, Fla. – The city of Cocoa on Saturday celebrated the high school’s most recent state championship win.

The celebration took place at Cocoa Riverfront Park.

Cocoa High School won the Class 2A football state championship for the third straight year, defeating Gadsden County 38-27.

The team’s Facebook account thanked the city in a statement released Saturday afternoon. It can be read below:

“Three-Peat Champions!

We want to take a moment to thank the incredible City of Cocoa community for your unwavering support of the Cocoa High Football program. This historic three-peat championship wouldn’t have been possible without each and every one of you!

To our coaches, players, and staff—your dedication, hard work, and Tiger pride have brought this city together once again. To the parents, thank you for your sacrifices and for believing in this team every step of the way.

A huge shoutout to the local businesses and organizations that continue to back us through sponsorships, donations, and love. And to the Cocoa City Council—thank you for being champions of our youth and our program.

Together, we’ve proven once again that Cocoa is more than a city—it’s a family. Let’s keep this momentum going and celebrate what we’ve built together!”

“Best senior class in Cocoa history,” Cocoa head coach Ryan Schneider said after the game. “We won three in a row, but we’ve been to four straight state championships. It’s a class of winners. I’m more proud of the type of people they are off the field.”

The mayor, along with the school’s principal and coach, were out at the event.

“It means a lot for us as a team and for Cocoa the most,” said Jayvan Boggs, star wide receiver and recent Florida State Seminoles. “The legacy at Cocoa, the three-peat, we did it once, and now we did it again.”
