PALM BAY, Fla. – New video from the Palm Bay Police Department shows how an officer caught a juvenile suspected in a series of vehicle burglaries.
Recorded on Wednesday, the video shows Palm Bay police Sgt. Fooks stop the juvenile after allegedly recognizing her from surveillance footage of vehicle burglaries from the previous night, the police department said on social media.
The girl can be seen walking away from Fooks’ patrol vehicle while being asked questions about her outfit before she broke into a sprint across an intersection and through a canal line with the sergeant close in pursuit.
The video ends with the arrest and states that the suspect faces charges of resisting arrest with and without violence, battery on a law enforcement officer, five counts of vehicle burglary and an outstanding warrant (TICO) for vehicle burglary.
