OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A man arrested last year in Polk County, accused of molesting a child, has been transferred to the Osceola County Jail, court records show.
52-year-old Davie Albarran, who was featured on “America’s Most Wanted,” was arrested near Lakeland in February 2024 after his daughter allegedly called law enforcement to report where he was, referencing an Osceola County warrant in his name for child abuse, according to a charging affidavit.
That warrant was one of two outstanding against Albarran at the time — the other being out of Orange County for failure to pay child support — and when Polk deputies moved in to arrest him, he initially said that his name was “Jose Rodriguez,” a Polk County affidavit states.
Albarran’s warrant out of St. Cloud details an investigation which began in 2022 and focused on a young family member he’s accused of molesting multiple times that year. The warrant describes how another family member confronted Albarran before initially reporting him, at which time he went into hiding.
In March 2024, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced it had arrested Davie Albarran’s sister and her husband — Madeline Albarran, 40, and Angel Nunez, 37 — who were accused of accessory after the fact. The two allegedly lived at the home where Davie Albarran was arrested that February and Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said that they had been harboring Davie there since November 2023.
“We believed at the time that the Madeline Albarran and Angel Nunez were knowingly harboring Davie Albarran, but we had to gather evidence and proof that they knew he was a fugitive from justice on these horrible child sex abuse charges. These two knowingly helped Davie Albarran hide from law enforcement, and had been doing so for months. Now they are both facing a very serious felony charge,” Judd said in a statement.
Davie Albarran faces two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation against a victim less than 12 years old, according to the Osceola County Clerk of Courts. He’s being held on no bond, he’s scheduled for arraignment in February and he faces a minimum of 25 years in prison if convicted, records show.
