ORLANDO, Fla. – The Westminster Kennel Club selected several Orlando-area residents to serve as judges in next month’s dog show in New York City.
Wednesday morning on Breakfast with Bridgett, Ms. Victoria M. Jordan of The Villages stopped in to talk about the world of shows and judging.
“When I received the envelope, I felt very honored and blessed to be invited,” said Jordan.
Now into her 28th year in the industry, it all started for Jordan in the late 1960s with a puppy she saved from being sold to a pet store.
“I had bred Alaskan Malamutes for almost 40 years. Then I progressed from there, it’s kind of a lifelong process really. It wasn’t intended to be that way, but as you grow in this sport the more you learn, the more you want to learn. You never learn it all. There’s too much to learn in this sport with all the different breeds, so it’s quite a process,” Jordan said.
Jordan will be judging the Working Group in the show. Other local area judges include Mrs. Elizabeth Muthard of Lake Wales, Mr. Charles L. Olvis of Lake Wales, and Mrs. Angela Pickett of Chuluota.
The events kick off Feb. 8 and the Best in Show will be named on Feb. 11.
