Doctor says life balance comes down to checking what’s on your plate

Dr. Treshonda Baucom joins Breakfast With Bridgett

ORLANDO, Fla. – You may remember a recent story we brought you a few weeks ago about a health warning from the U.S. Surgeon General for parents’ stress levels.

When it feels like you have too much on your plate, something might be out of balance.

Today on Breakfast with Bridgett, I talked to a licensed counselor about how to get a more balanced life.

Dr. Treshonda Baucom says it all comes down to examining what’s happening in seven key categories of your life, involving aspects of health, physical, social, and emotional well-being.

Dr. Baucom says once you have inventory of everything happening or not happening, you can make the right adjustments to find what works best for you.

“One of my favorites is called The Healthy Mind Platter by Dr. Dan Siegel. He kind of breaks each of those domains down and gives particulars for each one as well and how much time should be dedicated,” Dr. Baucom said.
