Orlando high school teacher accused of ‘inappropriate conduct’ with underage student

ORLANDO, Fla. – An Orlando high school teacher was arrested after officers said he engaged in “inappropriate conduct” with an underage student, according to the police department.

In a release, investigators said that the teacher — Jarvis Ward, 26 — taught math and acted as an assistant football coach at Lake Nona High School.

Investigators added that they had received a report about the conduct “involving a school authority figure and a 16-year-old student” at the high school, prompting the investigation which ultimately led to Ward’s arrest.

Now, Ward faces charges of promoting the sexual performance of a child, soliciting a minor via computer, and two counts of soliciting sex/conduct with a student as an authority figure. He is held on no bond.
