‘A perfect day:’ 15 couples say ‘I do’ in Osceola County Courthouse wedding on Valentine’s Day

Annual event is very popular among couples

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Wedding bells rang out at the Osceola County Historic Courthouse on Wednesday as 15 couples tied the knot in a special Valentine’s Day group wedding ceremony. The annual event, hosted by Osceola County Clerk & Comptroller Kelvin Soto, Esq., brought together couples from all walks of life for a memorable celebration of love.

Held in Florida’s oldest active courthouse, the ceremony offered couples a unique and stress-free way to say “I do” while surrounded by fellow newlyweds. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as couples exchanged vows, shared heartfelt moments, and embraced their first moments as spouses.

“It’s a perfect day to marry your best friend,” one newlywed said.

For many couples, the group wedding was not just a chance to get married, it was a celebration of their journey together.

“We’ve been engaged for almost four years and couldn’t decide on a wedding plan,” one bride said. “This just sounded super fun, and we kind of just went for it! It’s different, it’s new, and it’s memorable.”

Others found their way to the ceremony in unexpected ways. Ken and Ameerah Connor, newlyweds who met on Twitter, said the courthouse wedding was the perfect choice.

“We were looking up how to get a marriage license and saw they had this ceremony,” Ameerah said. “It was the perfect opportunity to skip all the wedding planning!”

For Ken, the moment was about more than just the ceremony.

“All I feel when I’m with her is love. Everything else just blanks out, and my focus is just her. It’s an awesome feeling,” he said.

Following the ceremony, couples were treated to a reception complete with wedding cake, sparkling cider, and professional photos to commemorate their special day. The newlyweds shared laughter, happy tears, and a sense of joy as they celebrated their new chapter together.

Osceola County Clerk of Court Kelvin Soto, Esq., who officiated the ceremony, said the event is one of the most rewarding parts of his role.

“To be a part of such a momentous and significant occasion in people’s lives, I don’t take it lightly,” Soto said. It’s one of the greatest honors of my role as Clerk of Court."

With love in the air, the courthouse wedding provided couples with a simple yet meaningful way to begin their forever. As the newlyweds left the courthouse, hand in hand, the excitement of their next chapter was undeniable.

“This beautiful woman before me is my wife for life,” one groom, Ken Connor said.

The annual Valentine’s Day ceremony continues to be a popular tradition in Osceola County, with couples eager to participate each year. Registration for next year’s event will open in January, and with high demand, couples are encouraged to sign up early.
