KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A Kissimmee man facing a charge of attempted murder is accused of shooting a bicyclist whom he was arguing with last month, according to police.

Herbert Watts Jr., 34, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant regarding charges of attempted first-degree murder with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, records show.

Watts’ arrest was aided by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, the Kissimmee Police Department said on social media.

The shooting occurred around 9:30 p.m. Jan. 8 in the 800 block of Person Street, the post states. While riding a bicycle, the victim entered the area and came into contact with Watts before a verbal altercation ensued, police said. Watts then brandished a gun and shot at the victim, according to the post.

Officers located the victim at a CVS along W. Vine Street, where they were found shot and bleeding from their chest, according to Watts’ warrant. The victim was hospitalized in critical condition, the warrant states, adding it was CVS employees who first called 911 and attempted to render first aid.
