Man injured after accidentally shooting self at Florida Mall, deputies say

Man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

ORLANDO, Fla. – A man was injured on Sunday afternoon after accidentally shooting himself at the Florida Mall, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies told News 6 that around 3 p.m., deputies responded to the Florida Mall in response to an “accidental discharge.”

Upon arrival, deputies found a man in his 20s who had accidentally shot himself while adjusting his firearm, investigators added.

The man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies said there is no threat to the community at this time.

ALERT: Reports of a shooting at the Florida Mall are unfounded. There was an accidental discharge of a firearm and the only person injured is the person who was handling the firearm.
