POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Polk County woman was arrested this week after stealing electricity and siccing her dogs on utility workers, according to the sheriff’s office.
In a release, deputies said they responded to a home on Sugar Pine Loop around 10:49 a.m. on Tuesday at the request of a couple of Duke Energy employees.

Those employees had visited the property due to the resident — later identified as Tiffany Perkins, 28 — potentially stealing electricity, but she instead released her dogs, investigators added.
A deputy arrived at the home and began speaking with Perkins, leading her to call 911, the release shows. According to investigators, the deputy tried to arrest Perkins, but he was attacked by a Great Dane, which injured his arm and eye.

Eventually, more deputies responded to the house and were able to take Perkins into custody, per the sheriff’s office.
“The investigation determined that Tiffany was indeed stealing electricity from Duke Energy after they had cut the power from her home,” the release reads. “PCSO’s Animal Control responded and recovered a second Great Dane that was in extremely poor health. Both Great Danes were removed from the property.”
Now, Perkins faces charges of aggravated battery on law enforcement; aggravated assault on law enforcement; two counts of aggravated assault; resisting with violence; resisting without violence; theft of utility services; petit theft; trespassing; animal cruelty; open septic; nuisance injurious to health; burning prohibited materials; waste tire disposal; misuse of 911; and unpermitted landfill.
She is held without bond.
