Sanford police looking for man who made ‘vulgar sexual comments’ to 2 girls walking home from school

SANFORD, Fla. – The Sanford Police Department is searching for a man who made vulgar comments this week to two young girls as they were on their way home from school.

The department said on social media that the two incidents happened on Wednesday, Feb. 26, around 3 p.m. and around 4:15 p.m.

Police said around 3 p.m. on S. Holly Avenue, between W. 20th Street and W. 24th Street, a man in a newer model silver sedan drove up to one of the girls and made “vulgar sexual comments.” He never got out of the car, and he drove away.

Then, around 4:15 p.m., a man in a newer model silver sedan made similar comments toward another young girl on W. 24th Street, between Hartwell Avenue and S. Marshall Avenue.

Police said he is described as a thin, white man with no facial hair and long curly/wavy hair that goes down to his ears. He was wearing sunglasses on both occasions.

The vehicle has tinted windows, a pink license plate cover and an aftermarket spoiler.

The department said one of the girls reported a similar interaction with the same man on Monday, Feb. 24, around 9 a.m. near Maple Avenue and 18th Street and on Tuesday, Feb. 25, around 4:15 p.m. near Chase Avenue and 24th Street.

Anyone with information or anyone who has had a similar experience is urged to call the Sanford Police Department.
