ORLANDO, Fla. – The lawsuit over a deadly Orange County warehouse explosion in 2022 may not go to trial until 2026.
Four people died and one person was severely injured in the explosion at a warehouse for Magic in the Sky, a fireworks company whose clients included SeaWorld Entertainment.

The victims, who all worked at the South Orange County warehouse, filed separate lawsuits against Magic in the Sky and several other companies, including SeaWorld, claiming negligence.
Documents show the warehouse was not permitted or approved for handling or storing fireworks and did not have proper fire safety equipment.
A motion filed this week by SeaWorld says the five lawsuits have been consolidated into one case, which they want to see deemed as “complex” under Florida Rules of Civil Procedure.
This would grant the parties extra time for discovery.
The motion says the consolidated lawsuit now involves over a dozen parties and at least 50 individual claims, depending on any pending amended complaints.
Attorneys for the plaintiffs say they have settled direct claims with Magic in the Sky and another company, Jacob Dell.
However, both companies still remain in the lawsuit because of cross-claims.
It will take time to sort all of it out.
The motion also sets a case management schedule that includes a mediation deadline of Feb. 27, 2026 and if necessary a trial date of September 2026.
A hearing on the motion is set for Monday, March 10.
