Broadway takes over an agency that was roiling from the October 2024 resignations of Chief Betty Holland and Deputy Chief Camille Alicea after the Orange-Osceola State Attorney’s Office addressed concerns about the truthfulness and conduct among nearly a dozen officers.
Prosecutors named 11 officers connected to an investigation of former Kissimmee police Officer Andrew Baseggio, who was indicted by an Osceola County grand jury of felony battery, misdemeanor battery, official misconduct, witness tampering, and more in connection to a 2023 use of force case.
Broadway was a finalist for the job, along with retired Orlando Police Chief Orlando Rolón.
“Chief Broadway brings extensive experience in law enforcement leadership, investigations, and public safety strategy. His background and expertise equip him to lead the Kissimmee Police Department with excellence,” said Kissimmee City Manager Mike Steigerwald in a statement.
Broadway has served on the boards of several law enforcement agencies, including the Florida Police Chiefs Association.
