SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – A suspect in a 2022 Sanford shooting who was also wanted in violent home invasions and armed robberies in Georgia is now behind bars, deputies in Seminole County said.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies “came into contact” with 20-year-old Roderick Hillman at the Seminole County jail on March 12 around 7 a.m.

Deputies learned that Hillman has an active Seminole County warrant for attempted first-degree murder related to the shooting that happened on Sept. 30, 2022, when Hillman was only 17 years old.
The shooting happened at Seminole Gardens apartments where one person was injured during an altercation.

News 6 reported in 2022 that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said the home invasions and robberies Hillman is suspected in happened in June 2022 in Coffee and Atkinson counties in southern Georgia.
According to the report, Hillman was already in the Seminole County jail, but officials did not say why, but his arrest report did state that it was an out-of-state arrest.
Officials did not say if the charges regarding Hillman from Georgia have been resolved.
Hillman is being held without bond and faces charges of attempted first-degree premeditated murder.
