MELBOURNE, Fla. – A clinic in Melbourne is under investigation after several patients may have contracted a disease at the facility.
Dr. Lily J. Voepel operates the Interventional Pain Management Clinic on Harbour Road, where three confirmed cases of Hepatitis C infections have been directly linked, according to a report by the Florida Department of Health.
Hepatitis C, which can cause liver failure and be fatal, is primarily transmitted through contaminated blood. Although the disease is curable, it poses significant health risks.
News 6 reporter Laverne McGee visited the clinic to seek comments from Dr. Voepel but was turned away.
