‘All Things Equal: The Life & Trials of Ruth Bader Ginsburg’ starts with Supreme Court Justice “RBG” welcoming a family friend to her chambers to tell them about her life and the challenges she has faced.
She lost her mother just the day before she graduated as valedictorian of her Brooklyn high school, she was one of only nine young women studying law at Harvard while also raising a daughter and helping her husband battle cancer, and she fought for women’s rights in the 1970s before all-male courts.
During her time on the Supreme Court, she was known for her defense of the rights of women and minorities, and the strength and resilience she displayed in the face of personal loss and health issues.
Young women especially look up to her, affectionately calling her the Notorious RBG.
Ginsburg died of complications from metastatic pancreatic cancer in 2020. She was 87 years old.
After her death, she made history as the first woman to lie in state at the U.S. Capitol.
‘All Things Equal’ is written by Tony Award-winning playwright Rupert Holmes.
The show is directed by Laley Lippard, with Michelle Azar starring as RBG.
It will be inside the Steinmetz Hall at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts this Sunday, March 23.
