‘Just the Frenchie:’ Burglar took French Bulldog from Tavares home -- and nothing else

Burglary happened along Merry Road on Thursday afternoon

TAVARES, Fla. – On Friday, Tavares police announced that a French Bulldog had been snatched from a home in Tavares.

According to police, the burglary happened in the 2000 block of Merry Road on Thursday around 3:15 p.m., though no other items were stolen — “just the Frenchie.”

Police said they don’t have surveillance footage of the home, but they’re still working with the owner to determine who could be responsible.

“No solid suspects at this time,” the police department stated.
