ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando police announced they have arrested the person they said shot and killed a 46-year-old man in the Magic Mall parking lot on Sunday morning, according to a news release.
Police said they responded to a report of a shooting at the business located at 2155 West Colonial Drive around 2:19 a.m.
According to the release, officers found the victim, identified as 46-year-old Joseph U. Phillips, with a gunshot wound.

Phillips was pronounced dead at the scene by the Orlando Fire Department, police said.
Police said that after an investigation, they learned that Phillips was a patron at the D’Junction Island Bar and Restaurant and had stepped outside just as a group in the parking lot became involved in an argument.
During the fight, a suspect pulled out a gun and tried to shoot another person, but inadvertently shot Phillips, according to OPD.
According to the release, officers identified the suspect as 42-year-old Keishawn A. Richards. He was denied bond in his first appearance before a judge Monday afternoon.

According to an affidavit for an arrest warrant, the victim was the uncle of Richards’ wife.
Richards was arrested at his home by the Orlando Police Department SWAT team, officials said. He faces charges of manslaughter with a weapon.
Police said they are not looking for any other suspects.
