ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando is buzzing with excitement Monday as the city celebrates 407 Day, an annual event that honors the community and local businesses that make this region “Unbelievably Real.”
The festivities kicked off with a special unveiling in downtown Orlando — a 60-foot-long LYNX bus, wrapped in vibrant Unbelievably Real artwork, representing the pride and creativity of Central Florida. This year marks the fifth anniversary of 407 Day, which began during the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to support local restaurants.
Monica Ibrahim, manager of I Love Orlando Café, shared how special the event is for local businesses.
“We love it because it supports local businesses, and we’re happy to see new faces coming in,” Ibrahim said.
407 Day has since evolved into a two-week celebration, with over 50 local businesses offering exclusive deals through a digital passbook. From coffee shops and boutiques to restaurants and attractions, the spirit of supporting local is evident all across Orlando.
One family visiting from Indiana also felt the energy of the city. Kaes and his family are in town visiting his brother and were excited by the local atmosphere:
“We just got here yesterday, visiting my brother who’s a resident here, and I had the opportunity to walk around the lake, see all the businesses and local shops, and great food. It was really fun, lots of energy, great drinks, so we’re really enjoying our stay so far,” Kaes said.
The event isn’t just for locals — visitors are embracing the vibrant atmosphere, too.
407 Day continues Monday and through the next week, with events and promotions happening all over Orlando.
Launched in 2020, 407 Day initially aimed to support Orlando’s restaurant community during tough times. Today, it serves as a reminder that Orlando’s true magic lies in the people and businesses that call it home.
