A Florida man was detained Monday after police found him living with his mother’s decomposing body, officials said.
St. Petersburg police said a landlord called authorities on Sunday to check in a 92-year-old tenant whom they had been unable to contact for months.

Officers went to her home on 2nd Avenue South and spoke with Michael Moulton, 67, her adult son, who said his mother was visiting a friend and would be back in a day or two.
According to police, officers returned to the home the next day to see if she had returned.
Police searched the house and found her body in an advanced stage of decomposition, according to authorities.
Preliminary autopsy results did not show signs of trauma or foul play, police said.
Moulton was detained for an arrest warrant from 2013 for failure to appear on a theft charge. Additional charges could be forthcoming, police said.
