ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A drop-in center to help homeless or unhoused young people is opening Wednesday in Pine Hills.
The location, located at 5511 W. Colonial Drive, will be overseen by SALT Outreach, which has offered mobile drop-in centers throughout Central Florida.
Eric Camarillo is the founder of SALT Outreach and said the center will provide basic services for 16- to 24-year-olds who are in need.

“They can come here and take a shower, do laundry, get their mail here, charge their phone,” Camarillo said. “They can get food, and also, our team is going to help navigate them toward housing.”
The drop-in center was made possible by a federal grant to the Homeless Services Network and a portion was allocated to SALT Outreach.
Inside the location, there is also access to lockers, internet access, mental health counseling and case managers to help each person.
Camarillo, who was homeless when he was 20 years old, said the center is a personal mission and has a goal of providing resources to every young person in need so they can get back on their feet.
“Let’s get them what they need. Let’s try and get them into a home as quickly as possible, and we’ll do that in collaboration with all the communities in the area,” Camarillo said.
