The Orlando Science Center is celebrating one year of Life, Presented by Dr. Sarah Layton, with discounted tickets. The milestone for the Central Florida attraction comes after a decade-long, multi-million dollar renovation.
āChildren who come into the science center theyāre learning about science, technology, and math. The Life exhibit provides the biological science for children here so theyāre able to see the live animals and take that aspect of science home with them,ā said Curator of Conservation and Welfare, Shannon Zimmerman.

At Life, itās the animals like the red-rumped agouti, tamarins and Izzy the Sloth who serve as the ambassadors.
They educate visitors, young and wise, about conservation concerns and how they can help through immersive and hands-on experiences like the petting tank, interactive books, and animal encounters.
āThey walk away with a deeper appreciation. Having that one-on-one connection with the animals here really gets them to understand some of the stories the animals are experiencing in the wild, and some of the challenges,ā said Zimmerman.
The exhibit highlights three separate environments: The Swamp, the Ocean, and the Rainforest, where animals like the sun conures, tortoises, and golden-headed lion tamarins roam free.
The habitats are created and maintained to feel just like they do in the wild. For example, in the Rainforest habitat, itās warm and humid inside.
The Swamp features alligators and turtles.
Kids and adults canāt help but put their faces against the glass of the 10,000-gallon Ocean tank, with colorful coral, fish, and sharks.
Zimmerman said the new exhibits have been well-received by visitors.
āWeāve seen walk-in attendance increase by 10% and memberships have gone up 18% since our Life exhibit opened,ā said Zimmerman.
To celebrate the milestone, The Orlando Science Center is hosting $15 day on Sunday, April 13, 2025, offering the experience at a discounted rate.
