BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – In a music video that has garnered hundreds of comments and even more shares just hours after it was posted, Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey sings about Florida’s Move Over Law, captioning the post as “udderly ridiculous...and very important!”
The “Moove It On Over” video (watch below) showcases Ivey holding a guitar in the back a pickup truck, a man in a cow suit sitting on a bail of hay handling a fiddle and a bloodhound nearby.

The song, a karaoke version of Hank Williams’ hit “Move It On Over,” plays while Ivey puts a unique spin on it with lyrics about drivers obeying the law.
Comments on social media about the music video varied, with one user saying, "The BEST SHERIFF in the country!! No doubt."
Another user, however, said, "I wonder when DOGE will get rid of this kind of taxpayer waste."
In the middle of the song, a voiceover reminds viewers that Florida law requires drivers to move over a lane, when safely possible, for stopped law enforcement or other vehicles with safety lights and disabled cars.
“If you can’t move over or when on a two-lane road, slow to a speed that is 20 mph less than the posted speed limit,” the voice states. “When a driver fails to move over for a stopped or disabled vehicle on the roadside, they put the safety of law enforcement, first responders, service professionals and the motorists they assist greatly at risk.”
Drivers caught not obeying the Move Over Law can be fined and points on their driving record.
News 6 reporter Erik von Ancken, who presents a weekly segment called Protecting Our Community, this week reported about an arrest in a recent hit-and-run crash.
“If he would have just moved over the lane, this crash wouldn’t have happened,” Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Tara Crescenzi said. “A lot of people are not moving over.”
Florida’s Move Over Law has been on the books for more than 20 years, but it was strengthened last year to include moving over a lane for just about any vehicle stopped on the side of the road.
