‘Cocaine became so irate:’ Man attacked Brevard County Subway employees, deputies say

Edward Cocaine faces charges of aggravated assault, burglary with assault or battery and battery

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A 45-year-old man was arrested after he pushed workers at a Brevard County Subway restaurant before pulling out a knife, according to a news release.

Deputies said that on April 5, a man later identified as Edward Cocaine, went into the restaurant located at 390 St. Charles Ave. in Merritt Island with another man. Cocaine got into an argument with employees over what he believed were their bad attitudes.

According to the sheriff’s office, “Cocaine became so irate with the employees, that yelling at them from across the counter wasn’t enough!!”

Deputies said Cocaine then went behind the counter and pushed one of the employees before pulling out a knife.

Cocaine then raised the knife over his head, “drawing it back in a manner suggestive of a potential strike, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Deputies said the man with Cocaine tried to restrain him before both men leaving the restaurant.

According to the release, deputies were able to track down Cocaine and he was arrested on Wednesday.

He faces charges of aggravated assault, burglary with assault or battery and battery, according to the sheriff’s office.
