CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. – A North Port man was arrested this month after he attacked an elderly person at a golf course after he was called out for playing too slowly, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.

In an arrest report, deputies said they were called to the attack at The Cove of Rotanda Golf Center on April 18 shortly before 3 p.m.

Upon arrival, deputies said they found the man — identified as Aaron Carbo, 24 — standing by his vehicle with a bloody mouth.

“Aaron began speaking to me about the incident, where he informed me that he was approached by [REDACTED] aggressive manner, being asked to hurry up as he was holding other golfers up,” the report reads.

A “heated” argument reportedly ensued, causing Carbo to push the other person to the ground, deputies explained.

“Aaron stated he then stood over [REDACTED] him a ‘pussy,’ at which time Aaron’s girlfriend pulled him away,” the report continues.

As Carbo was being pulled away by his girlfriend, a staff member — identified as Scott Throne, 55 — ran over and punched him in the face, which caused Carbo’s mouth to bleed, deputies stated.

This sparked a fight between Carbo and Throne, the latter of whom was ultimately arrested on a charge of battery, per investigators.

As for Carbo, deputies said they looked at security footage of the incident, which revealed that Carbo had indeed pushed the victim to the ground before stepping over the victim and “exchanging words.”

As a result of the incident, Carbo was taken into custody.

Carbo now faces a charge of battery on a person 65 years or older, though he was later released on a bond of $2,500.
