WASHINGTON – New recalls being relayed by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) include thousands of units of Benadryl Liquid Elixir that were sold with non-child-resistant packaging.
The 100mL bottles — sold online at Amazon.com from July 2023 through October 2024 for $16 to $19 — contain diphenhydramine, which the CPSC states must be in child-resistant packaging as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act.
No injuries associated with the product have been reported, according to the CPSC, which announced the recall on Thursday.
Arsell is recalling about 2,300 of the units, which consumers are advised to immediately secure out of sight and reach of children. Consumers are encouraged to contact Arsell for a full refund by following the instructions on the CPSC’s website.

Also announced Thursday was Woolite’s recall of its Delicates detergent in 50 fl. oz. bottles. The detergent can contain Pseudomonas species bacteria, including Pseudomonas oleovorans, which the CPSC describes as an environmental organism found widely in soil and water which can prompt risks of serious infection among those with weakened immune systems or external medical devices.
People with healthy immune systems are usually not affected by the bacteria, the CPSC said, adding no injuries have been reported here either.
Around 16,200 of the bottles are being recalled. They were sold exclusively on Amazon.com in January 2025 for between $14 and $17, according to the CPSC.
Consumers should immediately stop using Woolite Delicates detergent with lot codes S24364, S24365 and S24366 and contact Reckitt for a full refund by following the instructions on the CPSC’s website.
