ORLANDO, Fla. – Former State Attorney Andrew Bain will return to the Orange County Courthouse, this time as a judge.

Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed Bain to the Orange County Court, taking over a seat that was created when the Florida Legislature voted to increase judgeships across the state last year. Lawmakers designated three new county court judgeships for Orange County.

In 2020, DeSantis appointed Bain to be a circuit court judge for the Ninth Judicial District, which handles state cases in Orange and Osceola counties.

Then in 2023, DeSantis appointed Bain state attorney of the Ninth Circuit to replace State Attorney Monique Worrell, whom DeSantis had suspended.

Worrell would go on to defeat Bain in the November 2024 election and take the office back.

Since then, Bain has been working as Head of Government and Business Engagement for the law firm of Byrd Campbell, according to the news release sent out by the governor’s office.

Bain graduated from Florida A&M University’s College of Law in 2013 with a Juris Doctor degree. Prior to that, he graduated with a bachelor’s from the University of Miami.
