Falcon 9 sends 56 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit

CAPE CANAVERAL SPACE FORCE STATION, Fla. – The Space Coast had great weather for a lunchtime SpaceX launch Friday.

The Falcon 9 rocket launched at 11:43 a.m. from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

The rocket carried 56 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit, part of SpaceX’s initiative to bring internet access to underserved areas.

The first stage of the rocket landed on a drone ship out in the Atlantic Ocean.

This was SpaceX’s third Starlink launch this month, and 10th Starlink mission for the year.
