SpaceX launches Starlink mission from Florida coast

CAPE CANAVERAL SPACE FORCE STATION, Fla. – It’s shaping up to be a busy stretch of rocket launches on the Space Coast.

On Monday, SpaceX launched 28 Starlink satellites aboard a Falcon 9 rocket to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

The launch marks the 17th flight for the first stage booster supporting this mission. Following stage separation, SpaceX will attempt to land the first stage on the Just Read the Instructions droneship, which will be stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 3:52 p.m.

The Starlink launch comes just hours before SpaceX’s planned launch of a historic private crew mission at the Kennedy Space Center. Fram2 will mark the first time humans fly a polar orbit around Earth.

Fram2 is set to launch at 11:20 p.m. on Monday.
