BELLVUE, Neb. – A Nebraska man is hoping his recent trip down the Missouri River breaks a big, orange world record.
Duane Hansen says he hallowed out an 846-pound pumpkin and then paddled 38 miles down the Missouri River.

Hansen began his trip in the pumpkin, which he calls “Berta,” Saturday morning in Bellevue and arrived in Nebraska City 11 hours later.
Guinness World Records is now reviewing Hansen’s trip before officially naming him the world record holder for the longest journey by pumpkin boat.
Officials say the previous record was 25.5 miles.
