An Osceola county student is tackling a safety concern on her own. Charity Best says she and her family and friends don't have a safe way to walk to and from school. They all take 17th Street to get to St. Cloud High School and the road does not have sidewalks, except for a small stretch right in front of the entrance of the high school. Clay LePard spoke with the high school senior to find out how she is trying to get results in her community.

Oakhurst was known for its murders, domestic violence, drugs and assaults, now police say crime there is nearly gone. Former gang leader devoted to youth crime prevention through MMA fighting


Groups of people helped clean up the beach in Brevard County on Thursday. They picked up dead fish after red tide led to a big fish kill this week. James Sparvero was there as the nonprofit Keep Brevard Beautiful and the Brevard County Sheriff's Office chain gang came together to clean up the deadly effects of the toxic algae.

Orange County students are designing robotic limbs, thanks to 3D printers. Recently, students as young as 5 years old competed in Princeton Elementary School's inaugural robotic limbs competition. Julie Broughton takes us to the competition. Watch her story here:

This week News 6, with the help of representatives from WellMed and United Healthcare got results for 813 viewers. Those viewers called our Medicare phone bank on Wednesday to ask questions about which plan is right for their needs, as well as the right doctors and specialists. Kirstin O'Connor explains how you can still get answers if you didn't get a chance to call.

An Ocoee family is finally back home after their house was gutted by a fire earlier this year. Today, the Lloyd family saw their newly rebuilt and furnished home, gifted to them by Tricon American Homes. Service dogs can assist with everything from visual impairment to mental disorders, but the cost can be prohibitive. This week's Getting Results Award winner trains them for free. A grateful viewer nominated Lauren Driscoll, who leads the Florida chapter of Paws of War. Matt Austin shows us how Driscoll and the program are getting results for local veterans.
