A special camaraderie exists between the athletes. The team desires to push themselves to their limits and this summer, the team will get that chance traveling to England to compete in the Henley Royal Regatta.
Only the best of the best receive invites to the historic event. This opportunity will be the second ever visit for Winter Park, but it’s the first for the girls’ team.
“I’ve never been out of the country,” senior Paige Perrott said. “It’s exciting to go travel. But it’s also exciting to know how much our program has evolved to be able to go Henley.”
“Even going to the national level is insane,” senior Delaney Gardner said.” But being able to continue to train again with these eight girls is going to be awesome. Just to be able to have that level of competitiveness over at England...you’re side by side by two crews. It’s going to be head and head, and I’m really amped up.”
