Sonic Prep Player of the Week: Talan Bell

Bell plays baseball at Hagerty High School

OVIEDO, Fla. – Talan Bell is the stereotypical baseball dual threat at Hagerty High School.

He is a menace at the plate, batting around .360 and leading the Huskies in home runs and RBI. He also plays outfield when not on the mound.

The lefty’s fastball tops off in the mid-90s, and Bell’s got nasty breaking stuff as well.

Needless to say, college coaches were lined up for Bell’s services. And Clemson University won the sweepstakes.

Bell is supremely talented. He’s a proud Hagerty Husky, and he’s incredibly self-motivated.

“I’ve definitely leaned on some teammates,” Bell told News 6. “But at the end of the day, if you want something done, you got to take care of it yourself, especially when it’s your own success. You can’t depend on anyone else for your own success. I’ve thought a lot about that, and if I want to do better, I got to work harder. Every time I put on that uniform, I just try my best to live up to those standards and be the best person I can be, the best player I can be and just wear that uniform with pride.”
